Leaders called for reconciliation during the memorial service for Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama ahead of the burial today.

Speakers during the service at Nyamira Primary School yesterday called for end to bad blood between Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo and junior county staff.

Former MP Walter Nyambati told Mr Nyaribo to forgive the staff who deflated his car tyres at the height of his discontent with Nyagarama.

West Mugirango politician Steve Mogaka told the deputy governor to shun differences with staff.

“Remember the Governor’s Bonyamatuta clan as you choose your deputy,” Mr Mogaka told Nyaribo.

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko warned against divisions among top county leaders.

Nyamira Speaker Moffat Teya said the late governor, had extended an olive branch to the assembly to iron out issues especially conflict over the county budget two months before his death.

MPs Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango), Richard Tong’i (Nyaribari Chache, Ben Momanyi (Borabu) and Nyamira Woman Rep Jerusha Momany assured Nyaribo of their support in steering the county forward.

The deputy governor told the mourners not to have any doubt over his style of leadership.

Nyaribo eulogised Nyagarama as a leader with humility and a peace maker.
